New Initiative to Showcase
Minneapolis Saint Paul as Premier Center of
Creativity & Innovation
Minneapolis Saint Paul is blessed with remarkable cultural, creative and innovation resources but receives very little credit outside of our region. Our vibrant arts, design, healthcare and food producers are often overlooked.
We've had the great fortune of extraordinary inventors, artists and entrepreneurs living and creating in our midst, leaders such as William McKnight, Earl Bakken, Tyrone Guthrie and Richard Schulze. All 21 of Minnesota's Fortune 500 companies, in fact, are home grown, and we cannot rely on outside industries moving to the frozen tundra. Florence emerged as the epicenter of the Renaissance because the Medici family supported and coordinated the efforts of commerce and the arts.
Like Florence, Minneapolis Saint Paul has the talent and resources to become an unequivocal world center for innovation and creativity if we harness our energies and vast resources. We must nurture our talent pool and garner recognition for being an innovative and creative place to live and work in order to compete and shine in the global economy. LEARN MORE.
